Etosha Birds
We saw a number of new birds and some familiar ones. I particularly liked this Namaqua Sandgrouse, and the White-faced Babblers
Another special moment was finding a Purple (Rufous-crowned) Roller, who suddenly started making lots of noise as I was focusing on it - this sequence of shots is the result...
We often found birds named differently - for example their Purple Roller is the one we know as Rufuous-crowned - and a Bustard was called a Koorhan. At other times we thought we were looking at a bird we knew, only to find it differed slightly, as with the Purple-cheeked Waxbill versus our Purple Grenadier (the one in this picture had sadly died diving into our window.)

and last but not least..Red-billed Quelea, of which there were thousands!!
Next... a brief visit to Okutala Lodge and animal sanctuary
