The Waterhole, Ongava Lodge, Etosha, Namibia
Our room at this delightful lodge overlooked a waterhole. We could have sat on our veranda all day, just watching the endless stream and variety of animals and birds.
Zebra, Kudu, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Oryx, Impala, Hartebeest, Waterbuck,
Kori Bustards, African Hawk-eagles, Helmeted Guineafowl...and an occasional turtle! Oh, and literally thousands of Red-billed Qualea in the tree next to the waterhole, rising up and swooping down to the water, making a unique swishing noise - see the little video at the end...
'' Ooh what was that - I saw something MOVE!!''
This male Kori Bustard went into full 'attack mode' and chased off the Kudu when it wanted to come in for a drink!
