SKI SAFARI PHOTOS NO. 4

Cubs galore, and a magnificent male.

There is something so special about watching lion cubs playing - they are so carefree and full of fun.  Just like toddlers, they bounce around and then collapse on mum for a feed.

Then it's time for a snack...

Sometimes, they just want to get mum's attention

and sometimes the 'snack machine' walks off before we have quite finished...

Oh well, let's go and wake up one of my siblings...

A very handsome young male, who got up and headed straight towards our vehicle

This male was quite different, and was known as Ginger due to his pale colouring.
His mane started much further back than any other lion we had seen.

On a drive into the northern part of the park, we found these two, who must have headed to the river for a drink.  I suspect they would soon have gone looking for a nice shady spot for a nap, as it was extremely hot.

Next time - Giraffe, the gentle and sometimes not-so-gentle giants of the bush.
