SKI SAFARI PHOTOS NO. 3

Our first Leopard sighting of the trip, South Luangwa, Zambia

At the end of a morning game drive, we found this leopard in bushes near the camp.  She was alert and we stopped to watch her.  She was very slowly and carefully slinking from bush to bush to get
closer to a sleeping PUKU (type of antelope).  It was fascinating to watch her stalking skills.

It was blazing hot (in the 40's), and we sat and fried in the open safari vehicle for two hours, hoping that we would see a dramatic chase and even a kill.  Unfortunately, a privately owned white pick-up from SA then got fed up with waiting and roared past us, scaring off the Puku (aargh!).  Farewell to lunch for the beautiful leopard, who slumped down in disgust and gave us a huge yawn - and a late lunch and much desired cold beer for us!

Next...Lions and cubs (sooo cute - don't miss this!)
